Who we are.

Bryan E. Knop, CRPC®, AIF®

Professional.

Bryan lives, eats, and breathes financial planning, which makes for some riveting dinner conversations (just ask his wife)! He is committed to coaching fiscal responsibility, helping clients thoroughly understand financial concepts, ensuring that all of your questions are answered, and consequently boasts a personal record: a 6-hour client meeting! Born with a mind that requires him to know exactly how things work, has been both a blessing and a curse. Rather than being satisfied with merely accepting things as truth (far too easy), Bryan spends many nights trying to prove/disprove conventional financial planning logic and exploring new retirement planning theory.

Experience:

  • Began career as a financial advisor in 2008

  • 4 years training, coaching, and developing new financial advisors

  • 2 advanced designations—CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Consultant) & AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary)

  • 2 years in consumer lending with local credit union

  • Bachelor's of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University

Volunteerism:

  • President of Home Owner’s Association

  • Former board member, Cross Lutheran Church

  • Former youth mentor, Cross Lutheran Church

Personal.

Bryan resides in Macomb Township with his wife, Lindsay, son, Sam, and dog, Riley (Lab/Pitbull mix). When he is not working and “off duty” as a parent, you can find him slicing the golf ball on the course, attempting to be a DIY expert around the house, chasing the hockey puck up and down the ice rink, pretending he’s in a rock band on the drum set, peddling his legs off on his road bike, and/or enjoying a glass of fermented grape juice (preferably a dry red wine).

Why 6Metre? ‘Why Not?’

The firm’s namesake comes from the 6 metre class of racing sailboats. ‘Why Not?’ was built in Sweden, competed in the 1948 Olympics, and is now owned and captained within the family.
